New containers have shipped a single load of dry cargo across the ocean. You may see some light damage from their journey, but we guarantee your container will remain hole-free and weatherproof for at least five years.

Shipping Container Materials

LASHING RINGS
Also known as “D-rings”. Welded to bottom & top side rails to secure loads. *Not present in all containers.
ROOF
Corrugated steel with a slight upward camber. Allows water to run off efficiently.
VENTS
2-4 small vents fabricated from A.B.S. resin. Commonly secured by aluminum huck bolts.
INTERIOR FLOOR
Marine-grade plywood or bamboo approx. 28mm thick. Secured to steel cross-members with self-tapping screws.
EXTERIOR FLOOR
Two bottom side rails and multiple steel cross-members. Reinforced by a central floor rail placed on top.
DOOR SEALS
Weatherproof gasket seals made from EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) rubber.
SIDE WALLS
Panels of 14-gauge, 2mm-thick COR-TEN (or “weathering”) steel. Joined by CO2 shielded arc welding.
CORNER CASTINGS
Three-holed blocks of cast steel. Allows containers to be loaded and unloaded by crane, or strapped together with twist locks.
DOOR HANDLES
Four locking handles made of hot dip galvanized casting steel.
